The University has today, Thursday, 12 September, risen into the world grouping of 251-300, up from last year when it was ranked in the 301-350 grouping.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings use 13 performance indicators to examine universities across all of their core missions including teaching, research, citations, industry and international outlook.
This year's ranking is the biggest yet, with 1,396 universities from 92 countries and regions, up from 1,258 institutions across 86 territories last year.
It's the latest honour for the University after just last week being shortlisted in the prestigious Times Higher Education Awards 2019, in recognition of its far-reaching international impact and ability to meet societal needs. The winners of these awards will be announced on Thursday, 28 November 2019 in London.
