The Dubai campus hosted its largest and most successful Open Day last week. Over 550 prospective students and their families attended the event which was held at the Conference Centre in Dubai Knowledge Park, in the vicinity of the University’s brand-new campus. The entire event was planned, managed and hosted by the newly recruited team of high caliber Professional Services staff.
The Open Day provided visitors with an opportunity to meet Provost Ammar Kaka and Deputy Vice Principal Bryn Jones of Heriot-Watt University Dubai, faculty members, and representatives from Recruitment, Admissions, Students Services and Finance teams who helped them gain a better understanding of the courses, teaching and learning, scholarships, application process, student life, and future career prospects. The visitors also had access to information on the wide range of programmes across Foundation, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral levels offered at the Dubai campus and online, in addition to new programmes.

In view of the prevailing financial uncertainties, prospective students and their families were also guided through the various scholarships available to eligible and deserving candidates. The Dubai campus is currently offering the following scholarships and financial aid: Dubai Community Award; Future Made for Success programme, Edinburgh Business School Shaping 'Women Entrepreneurs' Scholarship, and more to help ease the financial burden.
Prospective students were also guided through the ‘Responsive Blended Learning’ approach adopted by the University in response to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. They were also briefed about the new Dubai campus that is set to enhance the student experience with a digitally enabled learning environment from January 2021.
The Dubai campus was recently awarded a five-star rating for the second time in a row in the annual Higher Education Classification (HEC) ratings by Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). It was also crowned ‘Best University’ at Forbes Middle East Higher Education Awards in 2019.
