International partners

Collaborative Partners

The University has a number of highly valued collaborative partnerships with universities around the world. These are typically arrangements whereby Heriot-Watt University, in partnership with another awarding body, agree to provide a single programme of study which leads to either a joint or dual award. In a Collaborative Partnership, the University and its partner are jointly responsible for the development, management, delivery and teaching of the programme of study. A Collaborative Board of Studies is responsible for all academic and non-academic matters, including monitoring delivery, evaluation and quality assurance arrangements.

Students on a collaborative programme of study enrol with both Heriot-Watt University and the partner institution.

Approved Learning Partners

Our network of Approved Learning Partners (ALPs) comprises 15 overseas learning institutions in 12 countries. ALPs provide a high quality learning experience and all the support you need to successfully complete a Heriot-Watt University degree, regardless of where in the world you are based.

We carefully monitor our ALPs to ensure that the academic standards and quality of the education provision is exactly the same as for students who study at our UK campuses.

Studying through one of our partner institutions mean you can meet other students and work together as groups, as well as receive tutoring and support from qualified academics.
