Adobe is the global leader in digital media and digital marketing solutions providing creative, marketing and document solutions across all sectors, from emerging artists to global brands.

Adobe is one of Heriot-Watt University’s partners in the Graduate Apprenticeship programme BSc in Software Development for Business. Read more about the benefits in our interview with Heriot-Watt graduate and Engineering Manager at Adobe - Nicholas Goodall.

Why did you decide to recruit or nominate a graduate apprentice?

We see it as a great way for our junior staff, who may not have come through the standard computer science route, to get a proper grounding in computer science. This will benefit the individual as well as Adobe in the long term. It provides the individual with a deeper career path and gives Adobe better trained and educated staff members who we hope will remain at Adobe well into the future.

What appealed to you most about Heriot-Watt University?

I graduated from Heriot-Watt Computer Science and feel it served me well and is a well-recognised course. It's also nearby which is convenient!

What attracted you to Graduate Apprenticeships?

The apprentice comes out with a recognised degree and practical work is focused on what the apprentice is doing at work.

How have Graduate Apprenticeships benefited your company?

They provide another avenue for keen and talented employees who don't have the background in computer science to gain this knowledge.
