The Global Incubator delivers unique incubation and is a safe harbour for entrepreneurs to transform innovative solutions into scalable ventures.
The Institute of Sensors, Signals and Systems is a hands-on engineering institute with a strong applied and industrial research emphasis. Our expertise offer a stimulating environment for supervised research leading to the degrees of MSc, MPhil or PhD.
Studying with us you will have access to our extensive facilities including microfabrication cleanrooms, an anechoic chamber for the measurement of field radiation patterns, low temperature co-fired ceramic manufacturing laboratories, a high voltage laboratory (one of four left in the UK) and a microwave manufacturing and characterisation facility.

Origins of EBS Incubator
The EBS incubator was developed in Edinburgh by Professor Laura Galloway and Unpreneur in 2018. Building upon its success, we brought our model to our campuses in Dubai and Malaysia in 2022.
Dr Tom Pfefferkorn is the Director of the EBS Global Incubator. He is also Assistant Professor of Business Management, a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA), a CMI member, a serial entrepreneur, and a technology consultant. Tom's expertise in technology and manufacturing readiness for investment underpins the Incubator's capacity to commercialise research outputs, scale-up technology start-ups, and accelerate their sustainable growth.
