Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship

The Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship is an undergraduate degree scholarship open to high potential, deserving students with a strong ambition to contribute to the development of Malaysia. As the Scholarship focuses on holistic development, recipients of the Scholarship also known as Tunku Scholars will undergo a 2-year leadership programme to initiate change as young leaders in their communities and their country.

The Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship provides elaborate financial support in the following areas:

  • University Fees - Full sponsorship of tuition fees in Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.
  • Monthly Allowance - Living allowance will be provided monthly throughout the scholarship.
  • Annual Allowance - Professional development allowance for Scholars’ self-improvement. Stationery and book allowances are also provided, as well as flight allowances (limited to flights between East and West Malaysia only).
  • One-Off Allowance - To cover other essential expenses related to academic and professional needs, such as laptop purchases, thesis-related costs, and formal attire.

Programme offered:

  • All undergraduate programme offers in Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.

Criteria:

1. This Scholarship is open to:

  • Candidates who have already completed their pre-university course and shall enrol into an undergraduate degree programme by March 2027.
  • Candidates who have at least two years of their undergraduate studies remaining (completion date after September 2028)

2. Candidates who have just finished pre-university will be given a conditional offer subject to them receiving an offer of study from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.

3. Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman will prioritise candidates who:

  • Come from challenging backgrounds, such as candidates who are PWD (OKU), candidates from rural communities and candidates from families with an income of below RM5,250 a month.
  • Have overcome or are currently overcoming difficult life challenges.
  • Show leadership and strong character.

Zchwantech Scholarship

The Zchwantech Scholarship Programme offers full coverage of tuition fees and career opportunities for Computing Science students only.

Eligibility: 

  • Applicant who has been offered and accepted to study as full-time undergraduate student in Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) BSc (Hons) Computing Science programme OR current active HWUM BSc (Hons) Computing Science programme student.
  • Malaysian citizens only.

Result Requirements:

Types of Qualification Results
SPM/ IGCSE or equivalent Minimum 8As
Foundation/ STPM  Minimum CGPA 3.20 / 55% or it's equivalent academic performance 
Current HWUM 2nd Year or 3rd year Computing Science Student Minimum CGPA 3.20 / 55% per academic year*

* Once awarded, the student is to maintain this grade for the rest of the years of the course

  • Applicants that are actively involved in extra-curricular activities will have an added advantage.

Application Timeline: On-going

The successful scholar is required to serve a scholarship bond upon graduation from the programme, in the form of full-time employment, with the scholarship sponsor. The bond period is subject to the scholarship sponsor's policies and guidelines. In the event that an employment is offered by the Sponsor to the Sponsored Student, the Sponsored Student shall work in the company to be designated by the Sponsor (eg: the Sponsored Student is to work for one (1) year for receiving one year of Sponsorship).

Sin Chew Education Fund Scholarship

Sin Chew Education Fund was established to aid poor or needy students to further their tertiary studies in Malaysia.

In partnership with Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, Sin Chew offers scholarships to the following programmes:

  • MA (Hons) Business and Finance
  • MA (Hons) International Business Management

  • BBA (Hons) Bachelor of Business Administration
  • BSc (Hons) Psychology

  • BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying

Applicants must fulfil the following academic requirements:

  • A Levels/STPM: AAB
  • UEC: 6A
  • IB Diploma: 32 pts
  • CPU: 85%
  • ATAR: 85%
  • Matriculation/Foundation/Diploma from other institution: CGPA 3.5 or 90%

  1. Applicant is required to register online as a member via Sin Chew Daily Education Fund Official website.
  2. Once successfully registered, the applicant must log in to activate the E-application form through Sin Chew Education Fund website.
  3. The E-application form must be completely filled and printed out.
  4. Upon signing the printed application form, please attach the relevant documents, and post to the address as shown below.

The Star Education Fund Scholarship

The Star Education Fund scholarship is offered under the collaboration between Star Media Group with Heriot-Watt University Malaysia to provide higher education opportunities to deserving young Malaysians.

Scholarships are applicable to the following programmes:

Foundation leading to or direct entry to degree in:

  • MEng Chemical Engineering
  • MEng Mechanical Engineering
  • MEng Civil Engineering
  • MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Eligibility:

  • Malaysian citizens not more than 25 years of age.
  • Excel in extra-curricular activities or active in sports.
  • Not bonded to or in receipt of any financial aid or awards from other educational institutions or organisations.
  • Possess reasonably good result in SPM / UEC or equivalent (for Foundation course).
  • Possess reasonably good results in STPM / UEC or equivalent (for Degree courses).

HILTI Scholarship Programme Undergraduate 2025

The Hilti Scholarship Programme empowers exceptional young leaders by offering a full scholarship, hands-on internship experience, dedicated mentorship, and access to a strong industry network. With a focus on academic excellence and leadership development, the programme equips scholars with the tools and guidance to thrive and become future trailblazers in technology and innovation.

Program offered

  • Degree in IT, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
    (similarity programme in Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is BSc (Hons) Computing Science & BSc (Hons) Information Systems with Data Analytics)

Eligibility

  • Mid-way undergraduate students (Year 1 or Year 2)
  • Pre-university leavers planning to pursue a degree in relevant fields.
  • Pursuing a degree in IT, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Enrolled and received a university admission offer letter.
  • Not holding any other scholarships that have bond terms.
  • Eligible to work in Malaysia, without needing any sponsorship for work permit now or in the future.
  • Demonstrate outstanding academic performance and proactive leadership in extracurricular initiatives (e.g., clubs and societies, sports, personal projects)
