Foundation

Typically we would accept a grade 12 graduation certificate with 65% overall and 65% in at least 5 subjects

Undergraduate

A fully recognised foundation year, A levels or IB is required. Successful completion of the HWU foundation programme could lead to direct entry into Year 2 of our Undergraduate degrees. Students who follow an international curriculum (A-levels, IB, etc) can be considered for direct entry into first year and details for these criteria can be found on the programme web pages.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise 75% in a Masters degree from a fully recognised University as comparable to a UK 2:1 and 70% in a Masters degree from a as comparable to a 2:2.

Typically we would recognise a minimum average GPA of 3.0/4.0 or 75% in a Bachelor degree to be comparable to a 2.1 and a minimum average GPA of 2.8/4.0 or 70% in a Bachelor degree to be comparable to a 2.2.

Typically we would recognise a of CGPA 3.0 out of 4 in a Masters degree from a recognised Higher Education Institution as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a of CGPA 2.5 out of 4 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Typically we would recognise a Bachelor degree with a final grade of 7-10 as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a final grade of 4-6 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Licenciado from a fully recognised University with a score of 80% or 8 as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a score of 75% or 7 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Foundation

Typically we would accept completion of Premiere Year at a French Lycée with Pass

Undergraduate

Typically we would accept a French Baccalaureate general/OIB/BFI with an overall score of 12 for Year 1 entry and an overall score of 14 for Year 2 entry.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Licence or Maitrise with a minimum of 12/20 as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a minimum of 11/20 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Postgraduate

The Maitrise or Diplôme d'Ingénieur are not acceptable for Postgraduate entry so applicants will need a UK Pre-Masters or a Bachelor from another country.

Foundation

Typically we would accept Form 5 in a minimum of 4 academic subjects (grades will be assessed on a case by case basis) or HKDSE with minimum grades 223 in relevant subjects

Undergraduate

Typically we would accept a Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) with 443 for year 1 entry and 544 for year 2 entry. These can be a mixture of core and elective subjects, but excluding Chinese Language and Liberal Studies. Subject-specific requirements apply as normal. Where Mathematics is specified, it requires both compulsory and extended parts.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Bachelor degree with 2.1 or GPA 3.0/4.0 as comparable to a UK 2:1 and 2.2 or GPA 2.7/4.0 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Foundation

Typically we would accept successful completion of the Standard 10 + 1 with 70% or above or Standard 10 + 2 at 55% or above

Undergraduate

Most programmes, including those with subject-specific requirements, require a Class XII passed with an overall average of 70% minimum. The exceptions to this are:

• Computing programmes and Design programmes which require a Class XII passed with an overall average of 65%
• Actuarial Science programmes and Statistics programmes which require a Class XII passed with an overall average of 75% and 80% in maths.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Bachelor degree of at least three years with a final average mark of at least 60% as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a final average mark of at least 55% as comparable to a UK 2:2. We do not accept Vocational or General degrees.

Typically we would accept successful completion of ATTESTAT\/Certificate of Secondary Education with grade average of 4 OR successful completion of Certificate of Unified National Test (UNT) with a score of 100 out of 125.

Undergraduate

A fully recognised foundation year, A levels or IB is required. Successful completion of the HWU foundation programme could lead to direct entry into Year 2 of our Undergraduate degrees. Typically we would recognise a Bakalavr/Bachelor degree/specialist diploma with a final GPA of at least 3.4/4 or 4.2/5 as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a final GPA of at least 3.0/4 or 4.0/5 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Bachelor degree with a score of 80-89% or 3.2/4 as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a score of 70-79% or 2.8/4 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Master's degree with score of 70%/A/Marginal Distinction as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a score of 60%/B/Bare Distinction as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Bachelor Honours Degree/Professional Bachelor Degree at Upper Second, B, Very Good or 70% as comparable to a UK 2:1 and Lower Second, C, Good or 60% as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Foundation

Typically we would accept successful completion of Thanawiya Amma (School Leaving Certificate) with 80% overall pass mark including in relevant subjects

Undergraduate

Typically we would recognise a four year Bachelor degree with a final GPA at least 3.0/4 as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a final GPA at least 2.8/4 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Foundation

We do not accept the Pakistan Higher Secondary Certificate for entry. Applicants who have studied A levels, IB or US curriculum are welcome to apply with the grades listed as required on the individual programme pages.

Undergraduate

Typically we would accept a Pakistan Higher Secondary Certificate at 75% overall. Where specific subjects are required, these must at 75% minimum. We do not accept Higher Secondary Certificates when issued by the following boards:

• Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Abbottabad
• Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Bannu
• Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dera Ismail Khan
• Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat
• Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand
• Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan
• Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar
• Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Saidu Sharif (SWAT)

In addition, applicants with Pakistan Higher Secondary Certificate will be required to provide an English language test as listed on our website.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise one of the following as comparable to a UK 2:1: • a four year Bachelor degree at 68% or above OR • a three year Bachelor degree at 50% or above plus a two year Masters degree at 68% or above OR • a two year Bachelor degree at 50% or above plus a 2 year Masters degree at 68% or above OR And typically we would recognise one of the following as comparable to a UK 2:2: • a four year Bachelor degree at 60% or above OR • a three year Bachelor degree at 50% or above plus a two year Masters degree at 60% or above OR • a two year Bachelor degree at 50% or above plus a 2 year Masters degree at 60% or above

Foundation

Typically we would accept successful completion of Thanawaya Aam Qatari with average grade 80% or above in relevant subjects

Undergraduate

Typically we would recognise a Bachelor degree with a final GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 or 3.75/5 as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a final GPA at least 2.75/4 or 3.3/5 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Typically we would accept successful completion of Senior High School Leaving Certificate (60%) or Senior High Year 2 (75%)

Undergraduate

A Foundation year is required for the High School Leaving Certificate. We may accept a Junior College Diploma (two- or five-year) with a final grade of 80+% for Year 2 entry.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Bachelor degree with 73% or GPA of 3.2 or above as comparable to a UK 2:1 and with 65% or GPA of 2.5 or above as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Foundation

Typically we would accept successful completion of Tawjihi with mark of at least 80% or above in relevant subjects

Undergraduate

A fully recognised foundation year, A levels or IB is required. Successful completion of the HWU foundation programme could lead to direct entry into Year 2 of our Undergraduate degrees. Typically we would recognise a degree from a fully recognised UAE University with a final GPA of 3/4 or 3.75/5 as comparable to a UK 2:1 and with a final GPA of 2.5/4 or 3.5/5 as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Successful completion of Titulo de Educacion Media General with minimum overall of 12/20 with 12/20 or above in any required subjects (including maths and English).

Undergraduate

A fully recognised foundation year, A levels or IB is required. Successful completion of the HWU foundation programme could lead to direct entry into Year 2 of our Undergraduate degrees. Typically we would recognise a Licenciatura or Titulo de (subject area) with a mark of 17 (20 point scale) or 7 (9 point scale) as comparable to a UK 2:1 and a mark of 14 (20 point scare) or 6 (9 point scale) as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Typically we would accept a General Secondary Education Certificate with minimum grade average of 65%

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Masters degree with Very Good (jiayyid jissan) or 78% as comparable to a UK 2:1 and with Good (jissan) or 63% as comparable to a UK 2:2.

Postgraduate

Typically we would recognise a Masters degree at 70% as comparable to a UK 2:1 and at 60% as comparable to a UK 2:2.
