Information for our International Agency Partners
Education agents play a pivotal role in marketing UK education and supporting international students on their journey to the UK, and as such are an invaluable part of the Heriot Watt recruitment team.
Heriot Watt has signed up to the UK Agent Quality Framework to ensure that all of our agents work to the same excellent standard to give our applicants an outstanding experience. We therefore expect all the councillors working with us to have completed British Council Training.

FAQs for our Agency Partners
Can I recruit for Heriot Watt without a contract?
Unfortunately, only Agencies with contracts can recruit for Heriot-Watt University.
How do I claim commission from you if my agency does not have a contract?
We are only able to pay commission to our agency partners who have a contract with us.
My agency does not currently work with Heriot Watt, how can I get a contract?
The University is not currently looking to increase its agency partnership portfolio at this point.
Which campuses can my agency recruit to?
Our contracts are global which means you can recruit to all of our campuses in Scotland, Dubai and Malaysia.
Can I change the duration of my agency’s contract with you?
All of our recruitment agency contracts are for three years. We will discuss renewing your contract with you towards the end of each three-year period.

How can I access the agency portal?
The Agency Portal is a mechanism through which you can manage your student’s applications. You will be sent details of how to access it once your Agency has returned its signed contract.

For our Applicants Using International Agents
Our authorised agency representatives recruit students to our campuses in Scotland, Dubai, and Malaysia. We collaborate with the agents listed below and they will be happy to provide information about Heriot-Watt University and assist and guide you through the application and visa process. Our Team works closely with representatives from these agencies to ensure they have up-to-date information about Heriot-Watt’s programmes, fees, scholarships and processes. This is done through regular training both on-line and in country.
Applying through an agency is not mandatory. If you prefer, you are welcome to contact a member of our own regional recruitment team directly by emailing enquiry.int@hw.ac.uk.
