Centre for Applied Behavioural Sciences

The Centre for Applied Behavioural Sciences (CABS) is one of seven research centres in Heriot-Watt University's School of Social Sciences.

The CABS mission is to create and exchange knowledge that is relevant to people and society under three distinct and important themes.

Cognition, Brain and Behaviour

Research under this theme explores change, including developmental conditions, social and developmental robotics, dementia and stroke patients as well as heathy adults. 

Lifespan Health and Wellbeing

Research under this theme explores health-promotion including activities in children and adolescents, healthy ageing and mental health issues.

Work, Society and Environment

Research under this theme includes behaviour in the workplace, assessing risk in the environment and interventions to improve workplace performance.
