Academic Quality
The Academic Quality team, part of Registry and Academic Support, offers expert guidance and professional support across Heriot-Watt’s global campuses.
We play an important role in maintaining academic standards, enhancing the student learning experience, and supporting the development of high-quality academic partnerships. Our overall approach is summarised in our globally integrated quality framework.
Key Strands
The work of the Academic Quality team is structured around three key strands. Each strand plays a distinct role: safeguarding academic standards, supporting the enhancement of learning and teaching, and managing the quality of our partnerships and accreditation activity. Together, they provide a coordinated approach to maintaining the quality and integrity of our academic provision.
We oversee the processes that safeguard academic standards across the University. This includes programme approval, review and monitoring, as well as ensuring compliance with internal regulations and external quality requirements.
