Annual Monitoring and Review
Every year, Schools and institutes review the programmes that they offer. There are currently two main elements to the Annual Monitoring and Review (AMR) process: School Annual Monitoring and Review (SAMR) and Partner Annual Monitoring and Review (PAMR).
Heriot-Watt University staff can view the Annual Monitoring and Review SharePoint Site for further details.
School Annual Monitoring and Review (SAMR)
Following a review of all programmes delivered on and off-campus, by all modes of delivery, Schools will complete and submit a school-level review and enhancement report to Academic Quality by 18 July of each year.
Please visit the SAMR SharePoint site (HWU Staff only) and read the School Annual Monitoring and Review briefing paper for further details.
Partner Annual Monitoring and Review (PAMR)
Partner Annual Monitoring and Review (PAMR) forms part of the University’s wider Annual Monitoring and Review process and is designed to assure the academic quality and standards of collaborative provision. The process also supports continuous enhancement of the student learning experience, ensures contractual compliance, and provides an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing viability of each partnership.
PAMR is a contractual requirement for all Delivery Partners, Approved Learning Partners and Joint Collaborative Partners of Heriot-Watt University where active students were enrolled during the previous academic year (the reporting period). This includes partnerships in teach-out arrangements where students remain registered until completion of their studies.
Completed PAMR forms for the current reporting period must be submitted to academicpartnerships@hw.ac.uk by 29th May 2026.
Please visit the PAMR SharePoint site (HWU Staff only) for further details.
